Risk disclosure
Read this before you trade. Leveraged derivatives are complex and carry a high risk of losing money quickly.
You can lose all the money you deposit
Perpetual futures are leveraged derivatives. A small price move against a leveraged position causes a large loss relative to your margin. If your margin falls below the maintenance requirement, the position is liquidated and you lose the margin committed to it. In fast markets, losses can exceed what you expected when you opened the position.
Only trade with money you can afford to lose. Nothing on AtlasPerp is investment, financial, tax or legal advice, and past prices are no indication of future results.
Leverage and liquidation
Higher leverage moves your liquidation price closer to your entry price. Maximum leverage differs per market and decreases as position size grows. The liquidation price shown before you trade is an estimate based on current prices, your margin mode and your other positions; it can change as markets move.
With cross margin, losses on one position reduce the margin available to all positions.
Funding payments
While a position is open you pay or receive funding at each interval. Funding rates change with market conditions and can be large during volatile periods, reducing your returns or adding to your losses even when the price does not move.
Equity-, ETF-, forex- and commodity-linked contracts
These markets are perpetual contracts that track a reference price. They give no ownership of shares, fund units, currencies or commodities, no dividends, no voting rights and no physical delivery.
They follow the trading sessions of their reference markets. Outside a session a market may pause or trade within restrictions, and prices can gap when the session reopens, which can trigger liquidations. Contract prices can diverge from the reference price, and liquidity can be lower than in major crypto markets.
Some markets are community listings created by other builders on Orderly Network under its permissionless listing. AtlasPerp does not create or control those listings.
Technology and third-party risks
AtlasPerp is an interface. Order matching, margin, liquidation and settlement are run by Orderly Network, and funds are held in its vault smart contracts on each supported chain. Swaps are routed by 0x. Wallet connections rely on your wallet software and WalletConnect. Failures, exploits, outages or changes at any of these providers, at the blockchains themselves or at price oracles can cause losses, delays or the inability to trade or withdraw.
Smart contracts can contain undiscovered vulnerabilities even after audits. Blockchain transactions are irreversible: a deposit sent to the wrong network or address may be unrecoverable.
Your wallet and keys
You control your wallet. AtlasPerp never asks for your seed phrase or private key and cannot recover them. Anyone with access to your wallet or to the trading key stored in your browser can trade on your account. Use a hardware wallet where possible, and only use atlasperp.io.
Eligibility and regulation
Trading derivatives may be restricted or prohibited where you live. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you. Do not use AtlasPerp if you are located in, or a resident of, a jurisdiction where this activity is not permitted, including sanctioned jurisdictions. Regulation of decentralized trading is evolving and may change how or whether you can use the service.
